Bon Mark Electronics Brings Kacific Satellite Internet to Schools and Health Facilities

In 2021, Bon Mark Electronics participated in the installation of Kacific satellite internet connectivity for schools, hospitals, and health centers under the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Free Wi-Fi for All program.

The project aimed to provide reliable internet access to communities where conventional fiber, cable, and mobile data services were limited or unavailable. Through satellite technology, educational and healthcare institutions in remote locations gained access to essential online services without depending on traditional terrestrial network infrastructure.

Bon Mark Electronics handled the installation and deployment of Kacific satellite internet equipment at designated project sites. The work included site assessment, proper positioning and mounting of satellite antennas, installation of network devices, cable routing, system configuration, testing, and commissioning.

For schools, improved connectivity supported online learning, digital research, communication, and access to educational resources. Teachers and students were able to benefit from internet-based learning platforms and government education services.

For hospitals and health centers, satellite internet helped improve communication, access to digital health information, coordination with government agencies, submission of reports, and other essential online services. Reliable connectivity was especially valuable for facilities serving geographically isolated and underserved communities.

The successful implementation of the project demonstrated the importance of satellite technology in reducing the digital divide. Unlike conventional internet systems that require extensive cable infrastructure, satellite connectivity can reach communities in mountainous areas, remote islands, and other locations where terrestrial networks are difficult to establish.

Through its involvement in the DICT Free Wi-Fi for All project, Bon Mark Electronics contributed its technical expertise and field installation experience toward expanding digital access in the Philippines.

Today, Bon Mark Electronics continues to provide planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance services for satellite internet, Wi-Fi networks, structured cabling, local area networks, CCTV systems, communications equipment, and other electronic infrastructure for schools, healthcare institutions, businesses, government facilities, and remote communities.
